Inauguration Day is now set. If you’re planning to go this year, we’ll take you to Fair Park and show you what to expect. But first, here’s Ten. A North Texas woman and her boss are accused of running a s*x trafficking network and then exploiting women in a so-called s*x dungeon. Renowned money manager Howard Rubin and his personal assistant, Jennifer Powers, have both been indicted on ten counts.
Prosecutors say they flew women to New York City and arranged for them to have s*x with Rubin in the penthouses of his luxury hotels. Prosecutors say they operated for a total of ten years and spent at least $1 million maintaining the trafficking network. According to documents, Powers, a resident of SouthLake, Texas, recruited the women, arranged for their travel and accommodations, and then entered into confidentiality agreements. According to the documents, Powers converted a bedroom in the penthouse into a s*x dungeon, which was painted red and soundproofed. Prosecutors say Rubin would set a safe word for the women to say if they wanted to stop, but then ignore it and continue without their consent.
According to the documents, Powers paid the women to manage conflicts that arose after their complaints. Following these encounters, in court today, Rubin pleaded not guilty to s*x trafficking. A judge subsequently denied his bail, citing a flight risk.
