When the reporter asked, “Jackie, there was a point in this game. Your MVP is struggling from the field. One of 11 in the first half. And you just held him down. How did your group come together for this big win?” >> Yeah, I think just staying together, playing together, I mean, he’s carried us all season. He missed some shots tonight. But at the end of the day, it’s his team. We’ll keep going to him. >> You know, the game’s tied in the second half, Indiana is on a run. They have home court. What’s the resilience of this group that closes the door on that? >> Yeah, I think you said it was just about being flexible.
You know, it’s a game of runs. And so not too much or too little. They went on their run, and we just had to come back and go on our run again. We knew the crowd was going to be involved.” The arena was loud, but we just had to stay within ourselves and gather ourselves in those moments when things weren’t going well for us. >> There was a point in the season when it seemed unimaginable. But here you are, one win away from the WNBA Finals. What does it say about this group that you performed like this at the end of the season? >> Yeah, I think just staying resilient, and then trusting the process.
You know, the first part of the season didn’t go the way we wanted. But we, you know, trusted each other and stuck together. You know, we had some long conversations, but I think everyone really embraced the process. That was the biggest thing. You know, just trusting the process, playing the right way, being unselfish.
